LIGHTNINGS ADAM BOYER TO BE HEAD COACH AT SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Adam Boyer
Boyer, a Louisville native and product of Dupont Manual High School, plays defender for the Lightning and most recently served as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Centre College, his alma mater.

Spalding University is an NCAA Division III school and member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). It is located in downtown Louisville and is the city’s lone Division III institution.

Boyer has been a part of all three seasons for the Louisville Lightning in the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL), helping the organization earn one playoff berth, three 2nd place finishes in the Eastern Division, and a runner-up trophy in the US Open Cup. Boyer was named to the PASL All-League Honorable Mention team in the 2009-10 season and was most recently voted Most Valuable Defender for the 2011-12 season. He is the Lightning’s all-time leading goal-scorer with 38 total goals.
