Brief Story: This will be Luis Pacheco's first year with the Louisville Lightning after completing his collegiate career last year (2010-2011) with the University of Louisville Cardinals, who made it to the Division I National Championship. The Cardinals lost in the final to the University of Akron in a very close game. Pacheco, who is originally from Mexico grew up in Michigan and played for the Vardar Youth Soccer Club out of Rochester, Michigan. Pacheco does not have any previous pro experience, but his 4 years at U of L give him a leg up on much of the competition, especially being the National Runner-up and winning the Big East Tournament. Pacheco also takes part in coaching U-9 and U-12 youth players at the Thoroughbred Soccer Club as well as helping out with the U of L Men's Soccer Team. As far as the upcoming season goes, Pacheco expects the Louisville Lightning to make the playoffs and hopefully make it to the PASL Championship. According to Pacheco, this will be possible through the hard work of everyone involved with the organization, and his commitment to becoming a better leader on and off the field. With his creativity on the ball, there should be a lot of goals scored whether it be by him or from him.
